Handcrafted and handwoven in a small village situated in the valley of Gods – Kullu, the designs have been inspired from local motifs which were discontinued by the society 30 years back to cater to a market which needed quick and cheaper shawls. Bringing a piece of heritage and craftsmanship to the market makes them more meaningful to both Soil to Studio’s artisans and our customers.
Soil to Studio’s weaving partner, Bhuttico is one of the oldest weaving societies and they are proud to have collaborated with them for their woolen scarf creations. Bhutti Weavers have been renowned for handloom weaving. Before India got independence, a group of 12 progressive handloom weavers joined hands and registered a Handloom Weavers Cooperative in 1944. Since then, the cooperative has been weaving beautiful textiles and has been given various National and International awards like the National Award Gold, Handloom Weavers National Award, Internationally recognized Woolmark certification for their quality craftsmanship.
