Made completely by hand from a solid piece of marbled soapstone, this candle looks as beautiful as it smells. The scent, Guava & Mediterranean Fig, is pure perfection. Rain or shine, this warm and exotic fragrance brings the best of summer indoors with top notes of Fuji Apple, French Cassis, and Kaffir Lime Leaf, followed by the scents of Anjou Pear, Rio Red Grapefruit, and Sweet Valencia. Base notes of Mediterranean Fig, Guava Nectar, and Tahitian Passion Fruit tie this unique blend together, making for a bright and refreshing fragrance that can be enjoyed year-round.
Each candle vessel is individually crafted from start to finish by a group of hand-chiselers in a fair trade environment in the Tabaka Hills of Kenya. Once the vessel reaches California, each is hand-poured in Craft + Foster’s San Diego studio using natural soy wax made from USA-grown soybeans and premium blends of essential and fragrance oils.
Trim wick to 1/4 inch before every lighting. Keep candle wick centered and free of any foreign objects, including wick trimmings. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time and always burn on a level, fire-resistant surface. Never leave the candle burning unattended and discontinue use when 1/4 inch of wax remains.
Rose & Fitzgerald is an art, design, and craft studio based in Kampala, Uganda, founded by a Californian couple, Courtney and Laren, who fell in love with the beauty of the indigenous materials and craftspeople they encountered in their adopted home of Africa. Rose & Fitzgerald believes the method in which each product is created is as important as the finished good itself, and that the provenance of the materials used is a crucial and meaningful part of the process. Each piece Rose & Fitzgerald produces is handmade by individual artisans using luxurious materials that have been sourced locally, such an Ankole horn, palm leaf, pure brass, Mugavu and Teak wood, leather, and organic cotton. Rose & Fitzgerald works with East Africa’s most extraordinary talents in techniques such as carpentry, hand chiseling and carving, sculpting, casting, metalworking, hand-looming, sewing and weaving—all techniques that have been passed down through generations.
